A humorous collection of memoirs from the perpsective of a pre-adolescent parochial student that may be called 'sins' by some.
Confessions of an Altar Boy Wayne J Martin 9781477587683 Books
This is a very funny account of growing up in the 50's and 60's, going to Catholic school and being an Altar Boy. It is a young boys account of having nuns for teachers. History taught with a Catholic slant. Science taught in a whole new way. Adventures in church as an Altar Boy, remembering that boys will be boys.I read in bed at night and at one point my wife said, "What in the world is shaking the bed?" I had to confess it was me, in fact I'm still snickering.

Confessions of an Altar Boy Wayne J Martin 9781477587683 Books Reviews
Knowing the real parish which was the genesis of the story,
I had a bit of "inside information". A quick read!
Having attended parochial school, in addition to being acquainted with the author, I can only appreciate, smile and say "thank you" for a most enjoyable read.
While reading Confessions Of An Altar Boy, written by Wayne J. Martin, I enjoyed both bursts of laughter and sweet nostalgia. Mr. Martin's writing reeled me in to the parochial school setting of St. Mary's (I attended public schools) and the towns of "Littleton" and "East Littleton." The antics of friends and altar boys "Wayne, Dylan and Todd" ( a.k.a. the "3 M's") literally had me laughing out loud. There is so much more....but the serviceman is at my door!
This book is chalk full of great memories of growing up in small town America. I loved it! Whether one went to parochial school or not, the antics of these youngsters will cross-relate. The characters in this book are endearing, and I found myself laughing out loud and also being transported back in time. I would liken the memoir-style recollection of this author's younger days to the style of the late, great Jean Shepherd. I enjoyed every page and every daydream as told through the eyes of this very talented writer who lived it himself. What a fun story and much appreciated walk down memory lane!
